What it is
Finely milled Matcha powder made from organically grown, first-flush Uji tea leaves. Rich in antioxidants and exponentially more nutritious than common green tea.
Note
Freshness is key in tea consumption. After opening, store tightly closed in a shaded area and consume as soon as possible.
This is ceremonial-grade traditional Matcha.
Our Premium Matcha is laboriously cultivated in Kyoto Prefecture, the most prestigious region for Japanese tea. Derived from single-origin first-flush whole leaves, it gives a strong, clear aroma and flavor. Because of the region's shaded environment, it also has low bitter catechin content; instead, it is high in Theanine, an amino acid that provides an umami-rich flavor.
- Sift a teaspoon of Matcha into a chawan.
- Gently pour in 70ml of 80°C water.
- Using a chasen, whisk in a zig-zag motion until frothy.
- Drink hot or cold; in lattes, smoothies, or cocktails; dusted atop savory dishes, or mixed into any baked sweets.
